CrewCalcs is built to be readable and operable in the field, including with assistive technology. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA and want to hear from you if anything gets in your way.
1. Our commitment
ATC Group is committed to making CrewCalcs usable by as many people as possible, including tradespeople who rely on assistive technology or who work in difficult conditions such as bright sunlight or one-handed on a phone. Accessibility is part of how we build a trustworthy field instrument.
2. Conformance target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which also encompasses the earlier WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. This is a target and an ongoing effort rather than a claim of perfect conformance; we test and improve the Service over time.
3. Measures we take
- Contrast. Body text is designed to meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio so it stays readable in poor light (WCAG SC 1.4.3).
- Keyboard operation. Inputs, selects, and controls are operable by keyboard (SC 2.1.1), with a visible focus indicator (SC 2.4.7).
- Reduced motion. We respect the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting and avoid motion that sits between you and a result (SC 2.3.3). - Labels and results. Form fields carry programmatic labels (SC 1.3.1, 4.1.2), and we work to make computed results and status changes available to assistive technology.
- Meaning beyond color. Result status is not conveyed by color alone; a label always accompanies it.
4. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. The most complex surfaces are the interactive calculators (number inputs, sliders, gauges, and results tables) and third-party content such as advertisements, which we do not control. We are actively working to identify and fix barriers, and we prioritize fixes that affect getting to a result. This statement was last reviewed on the “Last updated” date shown above.
5. Report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on CrewCalcs, please tell us. It helps us fix it for everyone. Contact accessibility@crewcalcs.com and describe the page and the problem. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to provide the information or function you need through an alternative method while we work on a fix.
